The five books of the Bible are preparing the Israelites to enter the promised land. At the end of Deuteronomy the people are on the edge of that land. The land that they are about to enter is full of other peoples who worship other gods. It is very important for Israel that they are clear about the LORD, the Creator and Redeemer. The people face a choice as they enter the land. Life or death. Blessing or curses. Genesis 1-4 urges God’s people to choose life not death. Here is the God of life, the God who creates life, the God who defines life itself…
