Webber Street

We are a missional team aiming to overcome barriers faced by the homeless community that prevent them hearing the gospel and being integrated into church. Our team partners with London City Mission to host a monthly meal for guests at the Webber Street Centre (Waterloo).

Activities

Once a month we host a meal to eat with the Webber Street guests and a team member shares a 5-10 min Bible talk. The focus is less around serving them food, and more around extending hospitality and friendship to some of the city’s marginalised. Think of it like being a church family and inviting guests in.

Some of the team also meet with guests outside of the monthly meal to pray (in 3s), have a coffee, and walk to church.

How the team works

Kitchen volunteers (after receiving food hygiene training) cook and prepare the meal in the kitchen (from 6pm).

The majority of the team (10–14 volunteers) simply spend time with the Webber Street guests, chatting, eating together, and serving food. We typically have 15–25 guests.

Typical Commitment

From 6:30–9pm on the first Tuesday of the month.

You need to have been at Globe for 3 months before joining this team.
