Revive is Co-Mission’s annual Bible festival; we gather with other churches in the network to worship together, hear great Bible teaching, and get to hang out as a wider family of churches. Since moving to London, it’s become one of the highlights of my year. Here’s three reasons why:
One: It’s a weekend away to grow relationships in the church
We get to hang out all weekend together as a church! We take over a block of flats together, sharing meals and staying up late with games and chat. Revive is such a good way to deepen relationships with others in the church, as it provides for extended times together to get to know one another outside of the usual church gatherings and the busyness of life.
Two: There’s great teaching and worship
This year it’s all about the cross. We’re welcoming Kevin DeYoung from the US to helps us consider the cross and what it means for us. We’ll be thinking about and exploring how Christ’s death and resurrection change everything for us and for our world. The weekend is an awesome way to dive deeper into the topics we’ve been covering in Globe Equip such as redemption, propitiation, and justification. Not sure what those words mean? Then you’d better come!
It’s also a privilege to get to worship with a thousand other people under one tent. Getting to see people from across the Co-Mission network singing and praising God together is such a good reminder of how we are connected to a wider church family across London.
Three: Team Revive is a great way to serve- and it’s really fun!
For the last two years, I’ve served on Team Revive- the small army of volunteers that help make Revive happen. Each year there’s over a hundred volunteers help out with all aspects of the weekend, from children and youth work, to tech and production, running the café, and much much more. As a team member, you’ll get a discount on the cost of the weekend, and a trendy Team Revive shirt! Check out the website to see if any of the serving opportunities interest you.
In case it’s not obvious; I love Revive! I look forward to it every year. It’s just such a great encouragement to look out across the field and see people from different churches, different areas and contexts in London, united together to learn, sing, and enjoy one another’s company.
Come check out the website to learn more. You’ll notice many good looking Globe Church folks in the promo films. There are discount rates offered for students, and if cost is still an issue then please speak to Jonty at church or get in touch.
I’m looking forward to seeing all of you on the field at Revive!
